Micro Acupuncture is a Natural Eyesight Treatment for:

Glaucoma

Macular Degeneration

Diabetic Retinopathy

Micro Acupuncture was developed by Dr. Andy Freddy Dahlgren in 1984 in Denmark. It is a procedure to treat medically diagnosed degenerative diseases of the eyes with acupuncture. Dr. Dahlgren, assisted by Dr. Per Otte discovered that there are 48 acupuncture points in the hands and feet that are not associated with other known acupuncture points that will benefit and improve vision in people who have macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa, retinal detachment, Stargardt’s disease, cataracts, optic neuritis, color blindness, etc.
When Dr. Dahlgren and Dr. Otte begin experimenting with this new acupuncture protocol, they expected to be treating the whole body and not exclusively the eyes.
But to their surprise every single patient reported seeing much brighter and clear. So they refined treatment protocols for different eye conditions.

There are currently only a few practitioners throughout the world that are performing this procedure. Ricardo Molczadzki, Lic. Ac. at Three Treasures in Haiku, Hawaii is a Micro Acupuncture practicioner trained by Dr. Per Otte. Throughout Europe there have been over 5,000 people treated with this method. In the United States twice those amounts of people have been treated, and 90 percent have reported that they experienced a definite improvement in vision, along with a slowing or stopping of eye degeneration.

Micro Acupuncture Patient Screening

Micro Acupuncture treatments are not a cure for degenerative eye diseases, rather a way to realize visual improvement after treatments. Some people will notice vision improvement after a couple of treatments, while others require repeated treatments. In all, around 90 percent of people who have had Micro Acupuncture report that the procedure met their expectations for improved vision. The other 10% had not experienced a remarked improvement, but a halt of the condition; that is in itself a positive outcome.

The initial treatment begins by performing a Visual Field Test.
During the visual scan the patient will look into a computer and, using a hand-held button, manually click every time they see a flashing light on the computer screen. The computer will determine a baseline field of vision of the patient. The eyes are not dilated during the visual scan.

The doctor will also take a complete health and medical history of the patient to note any issues that could correlate to the deteriorating vision. Once the patient’s current visual acuity is assessed, the baseline is used to determine not only the treatment requirements, but also any other nutritional needs and diet recommendations.

Micro Acupuncture Treatment

The Micro Acupuncture protocol involve several 20 minutes treatments in one day, with two hours pause in between them.
Patients are scheduled for their first six visits over a two day period. The actual therapy is the doctor placing acupuncture needles on points of the hands and feet.

After the scheduled number of treatments, a new vision test is performed to determine if there was any improvement. On the third day the comparative visual field tests are taken. The initial vision test is compared with the test after the first series of 6 treatments to determine how the patient is responding to this procedure. If positive changes have been taking place, further treatments are scheduled.

Another visual field test is taken after the patient has completed 12 more days of treatments, as long as improvement can be seen.

The total number of treatments required will depend on the patient. The age of the patient and the length of time they have had a degenerative eye disease, along with the severity of the disease are all factors that determine how many treatments will be required.

The average patient starts with 2 weeks treatment with 3 sessions per day, and more are scheduled if needed. Patients should understand when starting the treatments that they will need to return for more routine treatments once a year in order to maintain the corrected vision from the treatments.

Most patients find that a week of treatment improvements will result in visual improvements that last for six months, while two weeks of the treatment can last for up to a year. Doctors suggest that as soon as the patient notices that the vision is decreasing they should schedule more treatments.

While Micro Acupuncture is not a miracle cure, it will slow aging of the vision’s degenerative diseases. But, it should not be thought to take the place of proper diet, supplements that support eye health such as diet, vitamin A, exercise and managing stress. Micro Acupuncture patients must be diligent in getting the necessary treatments, and patient when assessing the results. It is a viable alternative cure to managing degenerative eye diseases.
